Now
a full blown festival in its own right, this event started out
as the Jazz element within the long established Istanbul Foundation
for Culture and Arts Festival.
Having recognised the ever increasing demand for more live Jazz,
in 1994 the first independent festival was held.
Although
Jazz in name, throughout the duration of its three weeks many
genres are covered. From Pop to World, to Reggae, to Jazz, and
beyond.
Located
in and around a dozen different venues in the centre of exotic
Istanbul, the festival offers a fantastic opportunity for music
loving culture vultures to grab a large slice of both.
